This picture has two important meanings:

-1 Contrary to what has been told, illness and disease affecting Black and Latinos are not isolated to low income or social economic status or poor resources. Genetics and lifestyle have a much bigger role.

-2 Having a chronic illness, is not a automatic pass to lay in bed , feel sorry for yourself and assume life long disability. These artist continue to work and bring the world their gifts , while trying to maintain their diabetes. May we all look at this as an example
